Andrés Basurto is a Mexican painter and sculptor best known for utilizing glass shards from beer and wine bottles and creating mosaic sculptures of various shapes and colors. His mosaics are held together with epoxy resin and expose his belief in the fragility of being human. Basurto creates “specific shapes that evoke the human skull and skeleton as a container of the soul.” His work has been shown throughout Mexico and has been featured in a number of art fairs and galleries in New York, Miami, England, and Scotland.
