Melody Rose upcycled ceramics are refired in the kiln at over 800 degrees so the image becomes part of the original glaze, will not fade or scratch. Established in 2011, designer Melanie Roseveare has re-imagined some of Britain’s most beloved china into ceramic artistry creating elegant bone china tableware.
Melanie takes antique or vintage ceramics, long forgotten and gathering dust, and breathes new life into them by adding vintage images and modern motifs. She uses both screen printed and digitally produced decals inspired by the surreal and the sublime to transform. Working under the design name Melody Rose, she focuses on three key themes: Urban Nature, Modern Surrealism and Rock and Roll.
Melanie Roseveare, born in Canada, lives and works in north west London. She creates ceramics which are small and affordable works of art, but also entirely functional and can be used every day. She started off buying vintage ceramics and redecorating them with her own designs using techniques she learned from Grayson Perry’s work.
