The 10th International London Tattoo Convention has evolved into a gigantic, buzzing, world record breaking event, including multiple aspects of tattoo culture and boasting a huge range of alternative lifestyle attractions and entertainment: amazing world class acts and alternative performances, from burlesque to sword swallowing, striptease and trapeze, photographic exhibitions, artistic events and live rock music.
I had the opportunity to see over 340 of the finest, most famous, truly unique tattoo artists, including TV Stars such as Ami James (Miami Ink & NY Ink), Tim Hendricks (NY Ink) and Phil Kyle (London Ink) and many tattoo artist I have written about on my website, including Jeff Gogue, John Anderton, Nick Chaboya, Nikko Hurtado, Thomas Hooper, Alex de Pase, Moni Marino, Randy Engelhard, Florian Karg and many others. This spectacular convention was such a memorable event and I’m so happy to have experienced it.
The London Tattoo Convention wasn’t just about the ink, it embraced the culture behind tattoos, and broadened out to other art forms. Visitors to the convention could see art by The Graffiti Life and an exhibition by the Bristol Tattoo Club.
I really enjoyed the finals of the second Miss Pinup UK and Miss Pinup International competitions, aimed at all women who embody timeless glamour and Pinup appeal, celebrating beauty of all ages, sizes and colors.
This spectacular convention took place on 26, 27 and 28 September 2014 in East London at Tobacco Dock with its beautiful Victorian architecture and attracted artists and tattoo enthusiasts from all over the world.
