Predictive Dream by Katsuyo Aoki from Japan. Skulls decorated in a rococo style make up her Predictive Dreams series. Each skull is made from cast porcelain. Her style references historical backgrounds and ideas, myths, and allegories. The decorated skulls have a parallel with the way myth “decorates” the phenomena of death with stories of an afterlife.
She has had numerous solo exhibitions and awards since graduating in painting in 1998 from Tama Art University (Tokyo, Japan). In 2000 she received her masters in ceramic art and currently uses ceramics as a means of expression.
